Hi, I was just wondering, for the internal frame backpack, is there a specific make, model, or size we should be looking for, or will anything do?

Hey Doug!
Great question... size and durability are what are most important. Something that is manageable through a train station, but could also be checked on a flight. For size, I usually recommend somewhere between 4000 - 5000 cubic inches in capacity.
Kelty, Gregory, and Jansport have some great models that have worked well for students (and directors) in the past. There's no need to spend big money on fancy brand names, unless you want to.
Make sure it's comfy for you, too!
Send me an email if you have any more questions, or post another comment!
See you soon,
